WSP™ Coaching is a two-step process which occurs over time. The best results are achieved initially by shoring up vulnerabilities so they do not sabotage the individual’s developmental efforts, and then by placing the majority of developmental attention on leveraging the individual’s strengths. 


Step # 1: Diagnosis & Development Plan Creation


Before creating development plans, the following data points should be considered…


  • Business & individual goals for performance improvement 
  • WSP™ Preferred WorkStyle
  • WSP™ Position Actual (how individual is currently working)
  • WSP™ Position Expectation (requirements of the role)
  • Performance reviews
  • 360 degree feedback 
  • Discussions w/ manager and others
  • On-the-job observations 


After a thorough review of the data, the following occurs…

  • The individual’s top 2-3 WorkStyle strengths to be leveraged & vulnerabilities to be minimized are identified, diagnosed, prioritized and shaped into developmental objectives. These objectives, when addressed, are the developmental areas that will have the most significant impact on the individual’s success.


  • Careful and full diagnosis of strengths & vulnerabilities ensures root causes have been surfaced, understood and taken into consideration when creating developmental activities (i.e., action steps to address objectives).


  • Documented development plans are created for each individual being coached

On-Boarding

The primary goal of the on-boarding process is to increase speed to productivity.  And, the employee must be front-and-center throughout the process.
